Let the show begin! We’re ready to embark on a new adventure…

La Grande Course 2016, this weekend a new exciting edition kicks off: 4 competitions, 4 nations, 4 great classic races, one great spectacle. After a rather slow start, with most of the Alps seeing very little snow, the season can now really get started.
On Saturday and Sunday the spotlight will be on the French Pyrenees, with the two-day Altitoy Ternua event: a prestigious new entry which will take the athletes up to the legendary Pic De Midi, at an altitude of 2877 m.
In mid-March, it will be the turn of the Pierra Menta, the “Tour de France” of ski mountaineering. 10,000 m. of elevation gain distributed over 4 technically challenging legs, with the “torcida”, crowds of cheering fans, on the Grand Mont.
At the beginning of April, in the heart of the Valle d’Aosta, in the Arvier Valgrisenche area to be exact, we have 3 really “extrême” days, with the Millet Tour du Rutor: a 7000 m. climb, lofty crests, downhill runs for real freeriders, are all part of the winning mix that makes this race so popular.
And then the ‘grand finale’, between Friday 22 and Saturday 23 April, with the most atypical and fascinating of all ski-mountaineering competitions. It may be the allure of this tough race, or thanks to the legendary PDG, or because it is raced at night, roped together at high altitudes… but once again this year we couldn’t have chosen a finale with greater appeal.
