La Grande Course Jeunes, great classic races for the champions of the future…
Following last year’s “pilot project” which opened the doors to the junior categories, this year the “Grande Course Jeunes” has been confirmed in toto. These are not second-class races: don’t call them side events. What we offer tomorrow’s champions are real, ad hoc races which, with reduced differences in elevation, follow the same winning format of Europe’s most prestigious “grand classics”. There is always a lot of talk about young people in our sport, about how we should pay more attention to the junior and cadet categories: La Grande Course Jeunes is nothing else than the realisation of an idea, of a dream, which places the present and future of ski mountaineering at the centre of our attention.
