A new entry with undoubted appeal for this popular circuit...

You should never change a winning format; at most, you can try and make it even better. On the strength of the success of the first three editions and of the positive feedback received, the circuit of La Grande Course is ready to raise the bar even higher, by adding the Open Altitoy Ternua to the élite group of classic races it already comprises. Yes, that’s right: in addition to the Pierra Menta, Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême and Patrouille des Glaciers which have already been announced, the forthcoming winter season will include a trip to the French Pyrenees.
According to the calendar, the event will kick off at the end of February with two days in the Pyrenees.  A top-level, two-day event, raced in a setting that will leave both competitors and spectators open-mouthed.  Immediately after the Altitoy, in mid-March it will be the turn of the Tour de France of Ski-mountaineering:  10,000 m. elevation gain in 4 days and the by now famous passage between 15,000 spectators on the Grand Mont for which the Pierra Menta is renowned. At the beginning of April, the ski-mountaineering community will descend on Valgrisenche: lofty crests and spectacular downhill runs will provide the leitmotif for a Ski-mountaineering weekend with a capital “S”. And after the Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême, the ‘grand finale’, a demanding high-altitude race beneath the Swizz night-sky: the legendary Patrouille des Glaciers. Are you ready for an unforgettable winter season?
