UPDATE ON MATERIALS FOR ADAMELLO SKI RAID AND MEZZALAMA TROPHY 2015

Thanks to increasingly effective insulating materials, our race regulations regarding thermal clothing are   constantly evolving. For this reason,  and since we do not want to penalise athletes who have just recently equipped themselves,  we are sending out this update which is to be adopted for the forthcoming Adamello Ski Raid and  2015 Mezzalama Trophy.

If the athlete’s third thermal layer is less than 400 gr (jacket) and 300 gr. (ski-pants) in weight, a wind-proof layer must be added in order to provide suitable protection.

Competitors are reminded that thermal clothing must at the very least comply with ISMF regulations, i.e. 300 gr. for the jacket and 250 gr for the pants which are to be worn together with the wind-proof layer.

We remind all athletes that a large portion of both the Adamello Ski Raid and Mezzalama Trophy is raced at high altitudes between 3000/4000 mt. and therefore in a glacial environment. We invite everyone to pay the closest attention to protection from cold and wind: a few dozen extra grams in clothing can ensure greater comfort, better performance and, most importantly, your own safety and protection.
